| I have been spoiled rotten - rotten! I have been home since December 1st and tonight I am taking a red eye flight from Oakland to Orlando. As Willie Nelson would say, I am back on the road again. Loren and I have had a glorious month and a half of each other's company full of books, talks, walks, smiles, laughs, sunsets, short trips, good food, birthdays, selling the Phoenix House, hikes, and other great stuff!
I truly am the luckiest the one in the world!
We went to Confusion Hill on the way back from San Fran this weekend and had a great time - this is one of those places that you always say you will go to, but never do. It is $5. The best sign, and there were lots of them said "If you came to have fun you will - if you didn't you wont."
The House of Confusion is built on the edge of a mountain surrounded by Redwood trees. This is where Gravity doesn't work right. If you notice we are standing at what looks like a 40 degree angle. I didn't take the pictures at the angle I should have to show the angle to the best degree possible...
Here are some picks... warning you may get confused... lol
here's me note the ball over my right shoulder hanging at a 40 degree angle too - everything rolls and hangs to the north. here's the House of Confusion itself... if you notice the hanging ball again, you may notice that it is actually hanging straight up and down (note the tree behind the house) it is the house built at a 40 degree angle... We had fun! I gotta go board my plane now... hope you all enjoy! Jess

| Happy New Year to everyone! I am home reading Gandhi. I bought myself flowers and dinner and 5 candles from the hippie store. The 5 candles are for, transition (purple), creativity (green), relationship (red), balance (pink), and something else is dark blue... I knew I would forget at least one... They are burning, my belly is comfortable, the dogs are quiet. Our roommate has friends over and they are watching a movie or playing computer games. Loren is out with Mary tackling some cliff trail somewhere south of here. He has wanted to go hiking so bad and misses Mary so much - I am really happy they are together! Happy New Year to everyone! May 2008 bring joy and happiness to everyone! Jess

| The semester is over I have been home for over 2 weeks (this is the longest I have slept in this house since I moved here) Loren's grades are due tonight I talked to my brother's wife today (it is their wedding anniversary today) I also talked to our dear friend Donna Rose tonight I cleaned out my files and filed lots of paperwork I even put clean sheets on the bed I had a great appointment with my therapist this morning
and ate potatoes for dinner tonight
(the latter is particularly exciting as I have been fasting for 6 days to try and rule out food allergies)
Seems like everything is getting all caught up...
It is excited to wind everything down nicely for a calm break with Loren and the dogs. I hope this time of year is full of warmth, smiles, laughs, good food, and lots of memories!
Happy Holidays to all! Jess
